The Australian new Prime Minister Julia Gillard had informed the opposition parties a settlement should be met in regard to the issues of Sri Lankan refugees. While she gave her opinion to the journalists, to the reviews published by the opposition parties in regard to the detained Sri Lankan refugees in Australia, she made this statement.

She said, without finding a settlement to the refugees’ problems, it is not acceptable to hold placards against them. It establishes that the opposition parties’ action is mainly for their own political gains, and not for genuine sympathy was mentioned by her.

Meanwhile she affirmed in the forthcoming week, she will submit a firm decision in regard to Sri Lankan refugees issues. A question was raised by the journalists, whether according to the Pacific policy, the refugees boat coming into Australia will be sent back, she replied back that the refugees are on a gruesome risky journey and entering Australia, and it is not reasonable to sent them back to the same danger.

Australian Prime Minster further said, it is much necessary to show sympathy towards the people who are escaping countries like Sri Lanka and coming into Australia on a dangerous journey.
