Bandula Jayasekera recalled to Sri Lanka following tiff with Palitha Kohona

The Eternal Affairs Minister has recalled deputy permanent representative of Sri Lanka at the UN, Bandula Jayaskera due to rift between him and Sri Lanka’s permanent representative to the UN, Palitha Kohona.

Jayasekera had been recalled following a Presidential directive and the External Affairs Ministry has granted him a short period of time to return to Sri Lanka.

Jayasekera, who served as the Sri Lankan consul general in Toronto, Canada was appointed as Sri Lanka’s deputy permanent representative to the UN a few months back.
